Advent 2012 Day 21
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. (Psalm 100:1 NIV)
Remember Christmas Caroling when we walked the streets of our communities singing our favorite Christmas songs? It didn’t matter if we sang off key or created “new” notes and rhythms. We sang to bring glory to God and cheer to shut-ins. God blessed us for our diligence through the kindness of our audience. Many offered cookies or candy. Some even joined the procession. After we walked the town, pausing at nearly every house, we gathered at the church or a neighbor’s home for hot chocolate, cookies, and games. It was a fun-filled evening—one we looked forward to each Christmas—now a cherished memory.
Christmas 2012 is past, and few had the opportunity to go caroling as we had done back then. But there’s no time like the present to glorify God and to spread some Christian cheer. Go ahead share this video with your friends or pick one of your own. We can go caroling on the cyber sea.
How about you? To whom will you shout for joy about the goodness of the Lord?
See you in a twinkling,
Brenda K. Hendricks
